Background & Experience

Karin has over a decade of experience in the field of mental health. Karin has extensive experience working with individuals facing a wide range of emotional and behavioural challenges, including anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder), burnout, depression, eating disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders, relationship problems and personal crises. She has worked in several inpatient and outpatient clinics as well as schools and hospitals prior to coming to Singapore. She has also been active in research focusing on Trauma and Cultural Clinical Psychology at the University of Zurich in collaboration with the KEM Hospital, Pune, India where her main study was based.
Karin specialized in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other empirically based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Karin aims at working collaboratively with individuals to overcome the barriers and struggles that are holding them back creating a safe and non-judgmental space to foster resilience.

Personal

Karin was born and raised in Brazil before moving to Switzerland to do her university studies and so is familiar with the challenges of moving and transitions. She has both Brazilian and Swiss nationalities (although ethnically Swiss and Japanese) which enables her to be sensitive and understanding of socio-cultural nuances. Karin can conduct therapy in English, Portuguese, German, and Spanish.
