Dr Ryan Nah is a UK-trained Clinical Psychologist who is registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (Reg no. PYL 34773). He is also a Cognitive Behavioural
Psychotherapist accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive
Psychotherapies (Reg no. 180980).

Background & Clinical Experience

Dr Ryan Nah has 14 years of work experience in the mental health field. He is currently employed as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist ^ and the Lead Psychologist for 4 community mental health teams in the UK’s National Health Service. Previously, Ryan held Clinical Lead roles in various settings, including in Early Intervention in Psychosis and Acute Inpatient services. Pertaining to clinical experience, Ryan has worked with individuals with longstanding and complex mental health difficulties, such as complex trauma, psychosis, anxiety and depression. He has also provided psychologically interventions for couples and family. Regarding therapeutic modalities, Ryan subscribes to an integrative approach
including but not limited to cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focused therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and family and systemic psychotherapy. He believes in providing a safe space and works compassionately, non-judgmentally and collaboratively with clients.

Besides clinical work, Ryan works in academia and provides teaching, supervision, mentoring and engages in research work. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Oxford and an Associate Tutor at the University of East Anglia Clinical Psychology Doctorate programmes. Besides that, he held an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow position at the University College London. Currently, Ryan and a few colleagues are developing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Foundations of Clinical Psychology course at the University of Cambridge.

Personal

Like most Singaporeans, Ryan loves to eat and really misses the gorgeous Singapore hawker fare whilst living abroad. Travelling and learning about various culture, sparks joy for Ryan and he is grateful for the opportunities to have lived in different countries. Ryan speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and basic Teochew.
