Bhavna - Us Therapy

Bhavna Thyagarajan

Counsellor-in-Training

Bhavna is a counsellor-in-training currently pursuing her Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology at the College of Allied Educators. Bhavna is passionate about getting to know people’s stories—understanding where they come from and what shapes them.

With ten years of experience in the corporate world as a landscape architect, she understands the pressures of demanding careers, gruelling hours, and the toll they can take on mental well-being. This insight enables her to connect deeply with individuals navigating burnout, self-doubt, and career-related stress.

Having lived in two different countries as an expat, she is familiar with the challenges of major life transitions, adjusting to new environments, rebuilding a sense of belonging, and finding one’s groove. She is passionate about supporting both adults as they navigate these transitions. She also works with adults facing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem, offering them a safe space for growth and healing.

Grounded in person-centered therapy (PCT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), she takes a compassionate and collaborative approach, helping clients develop resilience and clarity. She also values creativity as a tool for self-exploration and personal growth. Through her work at Us Therapy, she hopes to guide individuals toward empowerment, supporting them as they navigate life’s complexities with greater confidence and self-compassion.

In her free time, Bhavna also works as a forest bathing guide, believing in the transformational power of nature as a tool for healing. She loves creating art, reading and writing poetry and going on long walks and hikes in nature.
