What To Expect On Your First Appointment

The first session is typically a shorter, “ice-breaker” session. Clients find this to be useful in assessing their compatability with the therapist. During the session the therapist will perform a comprehensive assessment to help come up with a therapy plan. The pricing of the session is usually lower than a typical session.

FAQs

You are welcome to bring along any existing diagnostic reports or school referrals if you have them. These are optional but can help your clinician better understand your background. Most importantly, come with an open mind. This is a safe, supportive space just for you.

A standard individual session is 50 minutes. For couples, we offer extended sessions of 80 or 100 minutes to allow for deeper exploration and conversation.

Your clinician will take time to introduce themselves and get to know you. They may ask some questions to better understand your story, your goals, and how they can best support you moving forward.

If you are feeling burned out, overwhelmed, stuck, or just unsure of your next steps, we are here for you! Therapy is a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, build coping tools, and reconnect with yourself.
