Approach
At Us, Dounia believes in bringing a positive and holistic approach to therapy. She likes to ensure that clients feel comfortable and heard. Having worked with neurodiverse individuals, she understands that each client is unique and likes to focus on each individual’s strengths. She also uses some of her social thinking and behavioural therapy skills for children where she feels it may be needed. Having been a Third Culture Kid herself, she also works a lot and empathises with children and adolescents who may be finding it challenging to find their place in this complicated and overwhelming world!Young Adults:
Through a collaborative therapeutic process, Dounia likes to hold a space for young adults to explore their thoughts and feelings, whilst developing practical strategies for navigating life’s transitions and challenges. Driven by a passion for fostering mental wellness and personal growth, she likes to use different therapy modalities for different individuals. She mainly likes to use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as she believes it can be important to embrace thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them and feeling guilt and/or shame around them.

More About Richard
Having lived in Singapore for 27 years, Richard is very cognizant of life as an expatriate, with its ups and downs. His client population at first was expatriate, and he worked with many different nationalities, cultural, ethnic, and language communities. His experience with Singaporean clients
has enabled him to be more able to engage with the different ethnic communities in Singapore. In his life, Richard celebrates his introversion; friends and family; lots of laughs; music; sometimes some karaoke; listening to /watching opera, not singing; out in nature. His goal is to have a rich, full life.
