Background And Experience
Charissa is a counsellor-in-training, currently completing her Master in Counselling from Monash University. She brings over six years of experience as a social service professional, where she has supported individuals and families of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Charissa’s experience in the social service sector spans children and youth work, family support, and crisis intervention. Her career has allowed her to journey with people through transitions, moments of crisis, and other challenges. This has given her insight into the different challenges people face across life stages and a strong foundation as she builds her counselling practice.
Charissa believes that wellness is more than the absence of illness; mental health is about being resilient, feeling fulfilled, and ultimately thriving. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals and families through different stages of life, and she is especially committed to creating safe, affirming spaces for people from marginalised or underrepresented communities.
Approach
Charissa believes in a person-centred approach, offering a non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. She works collaboratively, tailoring her approach to each person’s needs.
She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, or Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Her goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward change.

Testimonials From Clients & Health Provider Partners
Just wanted to highlight that my experience with Us was a very pleasant one from the start. My therapist, Ariel was a perfect fit for me. She made the sessions feel like a safe space, and was always celebrating my little victories with me. I look forward to every session knowing I was going to leave the room feeling a little bit more empowered, and that my time would be well spent. I would definitely recommend the clinic to all, and assure everyone that scheduling appointments are a breeze. The clinic is flexible and accommodating too.
Overall, I'm quite happy. I feel Ariel is supportive and patient with me, even when I keep going back to the same topics over and over.
